Our certification reflects a commitment to recognized recovery residence standards, ethical practices, resident rights, accountability, and responsible operation. Residents are supported through clear expectations, personal responsibility, participation in recovery meetings, peer support, and involvement in the recovery community.
Next Chapter is not a treatment facility. Our goal is to provide more than a place to stay. We provide a stable recovery-focused environment where men can strengthen their recovery and begin building the next chapter of their lives.

Next Chapter Recovery Homes was founded by Chris Murphy and Kenneth “Kenny” Bice out of a shared belief that men in recovery deserve more than a place to stay. Together, they envisioned a recovery home built around stability, structure, accountability, connection, and the opportunity to build a different life.
That shared vision became the foundation of Next Chapter. Following Kenny’s passing, his influence and contribution remain an important part of the organization and the work continues with the same purpose the two of them began with.
Today, Chris serves as Executive Director and remains actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the homes. As Next Chapter grows, the goal remains the same: to provide recovery housing that residents, families, referral partners, and the community can trust.
